So no pullout of the unwinnable war in Afghanistan then. Whats it about? Trying to do what the might of the Russian Army couldn’t? Is somebody somewhere working on the next ‘Cold War’ or something? This is not a dig at the new US President, he just took over. The war in Afghanistan is unwinnable.
The Russian army had their own ‘Vietnam’ or unwinnable war in Afghanistan. Vietnam mentioned, it was the U.S. unwinnable war ( & also unpopular). So what’s the difference? Is this war based on the evolution of weapons? Less soldiers will die compared to Vietnam? Right now, in both cases, the result is the same. Not winning over the people & never will as the ‘invader’. If theres proof of the opposite it should really be pushed in the media.
Empower the people to fight their own fight against oppression, don’t try to do it for them. Keep doing things the last way & this will be a really long unwinnable war in Afghanistan. Of course there are probably military planners that just see soldiers death’s as an unfortunate statistic of war. It’s up to the rest of us to not let the dead soldier be a stastic. Don’t fall for that ‘so he / she didn’t die for nothing’ bullshit either. Save lives! When you’re dead your dead. Sure it may make the news that your dead, but more often than not you’re soon a forgetten statistic in an unwinnable war. That is except of course by the family or friends that actually knew you.
I like to try to keep things simple in an ever more complicated world.
I admit I could well be wrong but my ‘gut’ feeling tells me that the people of Afghanistan probably don’t get a daily paper let alone have TV / internet access. Don’t misunderstand me here, it’s a simple case of communication. More to the point, it’s a lack of communication that we in the modern world just take for granted.
Simple fact.
1. You will always earn more respect by helping people. This means food / medical aid not bullets, bombs & death.
Pull the military aspect out of a situation & replace it with love. By love I mean help that keeps people alive in the form of food / medical aid. Running around in a foreign country killing the bad guy when the bad guy is part of that countries flesh & blood will still just breed more hate, as it is in the Afghanistan unwinnable war.
Drop leaflets! I’m sure this is already happening but I don’t think it will work if you don’t pull the military out first. Why? Despite best intentions you will always be the ‘invader’ and by default will always be fighting a ‘resistance’ movement.
The Colt peacemaker failed to make all men equal (& women of course). Information / the internet access will make all people equal but only when the poorest people in the world get that access! In addition to food / medical aid, basic access to the internet so the poorest communities in the world have access to information is the key. If they get access to info, they can help themselves to better themselves, which builds self confidence in themselves. You went to school when you were a kid. Sure, you didn’t like it, you would have rather played. School is your first introduction to ‘information’.
An example then, you were given the information that allows you to read or write, even if, like me, you don’t know too many big flashy words to get you message across. I wonder how many people read my words but just think “I’m better than this Aid Renegade guy’ just because of their higher understanding of language. In this case thats the English language because I just don’t know how to speak any other.
Too many flashy words in your own blog means you wont connect to a wider audience. I’m happy that I don’t know to many flashy words! My favourate for over 15 years is ‘salubrious’. It means, basically, healthy or benificial to ones health / pleasant. I just like the way this word rolls of your tongue, like ‘moist’ but with more syllables.
The ‘motto’ of this blog? Keep it simple, more people will understand! The war in Afghanistan is unwinnable.
