Has this woman no moral standards at all? Sharon Shoesmith, the bungling ex head of Haringey council, was fired after a’fundamental loss of trust and confidence’ in her abilties after the death of Baby P. She never once apologised for her departments failure to protect Baby P. No she’s sueing for up to £173,000 compensation after being fired. She claims she was unlawfully fired.
Remember Baby P had been seen about 60 times prior to his death by officials. This department was always more worried about its image than the infants they were supposed to be looking out for. She was finally booted out after a Sun newspaper petition reached 1.5 million. Basically the politians realised their own ratings in the public eye would suffer if they didn’t act.
I wish this woman would just disappear from the limelight and it looks like shes a total ‘Cruella D’ville.
Ever wonder why I don’t like any Labour government? Because the stupid nanny state rules & the failure to make the punishment fit the crime has led to the UK steadily getting flushed down the toilet. I also don’t like having a PM who wasn’t elected by the public.
Update 13/1/09 – Good news! She lost her appeal against her sacking. Unfortunatly she could still get the money if she goes to an employment tribunal & wins her case there.
