Barack Obama. “Time for change” got him elected. I think Barack Obama has potential as the new U.S. President. Just one question. Who does HE think his boss is? To me ( & you if you’re American) the American people are his boss. It’s the basis of democracy. He’s got a tough job to take over. First, as he has said in the past, it’s an un winable war. Does he have the balls of a true leader? Will he pull out of wars fought on foreign lands, save the US tax payer some money, then spend it on his own countries citizens in the form of lower taxes?
Wars cost money. Most wars are fought by political leaders. By default, such wars are paid for by the people of that county. I’m just talking the monetary cost here, not the emotional cost the relatives of those who died on the ground actually fighting the war have to deal with for the rest of their lives.
War is BIG BUSINESS. Someone / company has benefited from the cost of this war that could never be won (Does Vietnam ring any bells?) I stand by the fact that the late John Lennon had it right with the song ‘Imagine’.
How do you get nominated to be the next (Presidential) leader of your party? Who has the political power to say ‘they’re the next leader’ and what do the politicians who put Barack Obama forward as nominee hope to gain?
Ah! Politics! Politicians are masters of blatant self promotion. By default, they get the wage / pay packet & more perks to the job than most of us that pay our own way in life could probably ever imagine. Would’nt it be refreshing to see a politician that you can look at & think ‘ That politician does good! I’m happy my taxes pay his wage’. Respect is earned!
After all, any politician that sells himself so well that he gets elected has just guaranteed themselves a ‘credit crunch’ busting wage at the tax payers own expense. If it’s tax payers own hard earned money then the whole political system must be totally open & accountable!
If not, well, no matter how sincere they try to be on TV, they are just taking the piss out of you & me (taxpayers) and, because their wage comes from your taxes paid, you / I fell for it. Of course, we have limited options when we vote! Both of the main parties ( there are normally only ever 2 in main contention) already have the political perks ingrained in their way of life.
So, President Barack Obama, be a leader! Deliver on your promise of change. If you need to ‘kiss arse’ as we say here in the UK, be a REAL LEADER & don’t just kiss the arse of other politicians that helped get you elected. With great power comes great responsibility! Kiss the voters ‘arse’! After all, in a democracy, are not the voters the real ‘boss’? Do it in the form of doing all that you can to empower them to earn a wage & you’ll do just fine as a serious 21st Century President!
“With great power comes great responsiblity.” – It’s a great quote, don’t know who said it first! I learn’t it from ‘Grandad’ in the first Spiderman movie. It does’nt matter where you first hear that quote, it’s just more important that you take it’s meaning to heart & try to use it in your day to day life.
After all think about it. A politician can only get a wage if the ‘private sector’ of business exists. It is that simple, why make it more complicated? The ‘private sector’ pays a politicians wage. No private sector = no taxes = no wages for politicians. So Ok, for a second there I thought ‘that might not be a bad thing’ to.

So ok, it’s embarassing to post a ‘first’ comment on my own site. Pulling out of the unwinable war it not going to happen in a military sense, I got that from the inaugural speech. Wars dont have to be fought with guns & bombs!

2 years later & the secrets out! Just as the socialist labour party left the UK in economic tatters by bailing out banks & treating the taxpayer as a cash cow to fund The labour party ponzi scheme, looks like the US socialists (Democrats) have struck in the same way leaving the US economy in tatters as well.
There was one good thing, at least Obama got some kind of public healthcare bill through to help the many that can’t afford to go private.
