Been feeling really run down for the last month. Been working six day weeks tiling to grab the money while the works available, it’s why I hav’nt been blogging much lately. I decided it was time to re-evaluate my diet.
Yep, it was time to rack up those Tesco clubcard points & try to avoid most of those value brand pasties & pies. Also decided it was time to eat more fish, less red meat and more salad for lunch at work with, you guessed it, more fish – tuna to be exact.
To drop most of the red meat I brought fresh water trout as I didn’t want to up my salt intake too much. You’ve got to have treats! The Walkers salt & vinegar crisps were staying in the diet. also brought a fish recipe cook book for inspiration.
So today I’ve chopped up lots of goodies including lettuce, cucumber, spring onions, silver skin onions, beetroot, red cabbage, some cheese, a green pepper and finally some diced green jalapenos for a bit of kick. Miixed in some Newmans Own italian dressing. I was just about to put it in the fridge when I thought about the fact that my biggest problenm with salad is it never fills me up for long. hopefully I’ve cured this by wipping up some pasta & adding it to the salad. Guess I’ll find out if it worked lunchtime tomorrow.
As it’s Sunday I get to go to my nieces for the traditional Sunday roast, like I said you’ve got to have treats. By the way you can relax, I don’t do slave labour. My niece is only one year younger than me & married with 3 kids. You can work that one out yourself as I approach my 41st birthday in April!
Now if can only figure out how to quit smoking….
I’ve also swapped the dangerous wiskey consumption in favour of some California red wine from the Central Valley area. Not being a regular wine drinker I don’t know if thats good or not, especially as I live here in the UK. I am a bit worried as I didn’t notice the bottles had screw tops until I got home.
