Chances are that if you’re in the construction trade there is valuable scrap copper in your life! Don’t just chuck it in the skip, scrap copper prices are at their highest for years. Plumbers & electricians, keep your scrap copper piping & cabling, it soon mounts up to a nice little monthly bonus for you. The copper in the cabling is worth more if you strip it out your self.
That said many people still bin their scrap copper, I guess they earn enough as it is! That’s where you can profit. When you see a skip ask the owner of the property if you can rummage through the skip looking for scrap. Don’t just trespass & take anything, that’s stealing. If the skip is on a building site you will probably have to be correctly dressed with a high visibility jacket, sturdy boots & possibly even a hard hat to enter the site.
When you’ve got a bucket full or two, get online & track down your local scrap merchant / scrap recycling center. Congratulations! You’ve just made some more money to help you survive the recession.
