Does man made global warming exist? I’m now thinking no, and if it did man made global warming is so insignificant it’s not worth worrying about. It is very important to make the distinction between man made global warming and global warming in general. Natures own global warming does exist. Our planet has continually got both warmer and colder in cycles since before the human race (us!) existed. Quite simply, Co2 and methane levels in the atmosphere do not show any relationship to temperature. Only solar (sun) activity shows an obvious connection to the rise & fall of the planets temperature. Many global warming computer models don’t include this, leaving them flawed from the start.
A quick point, one fear of global warming is that the ice caps will melt and too much fresh water may stop the ocean conveyor belt. This conveyor belt distributes heat from the oceans on the equator to the north affecting our weather. Global warming occurs naturally any way so any man made global warming may not make much difference. 40 or 50 years is nothing in the long life of the planet. If it’s going to happen it’s coing to happen any way. Sucks I know, but nature as a whole has a habit of righting itself, regardless of wether we adapt to it or not.
So whats all the man made global warming all about? Well, it’s starting to read like a great movie script! It’s now politically motivated, it’s about all those jobs created in relation to it and, the one that’s scares me the most, it’s about being able to place sanctions on developing countries to hold them back. Just look at Africa, it has it’s own coal and oil supplies that it could use to create electricity for all its people but it’s being suppressed from doing so. Not exactly the developed world’s greatest action to keep people living on the poverty line is it?
Quite simply I think it’s about ‘power to control’. Science is now being driven by politics, not fact. That’s a bad thing! Some scientists, worried about keeping their funding, are ignoring scientific fact if it does’nt support their global warming conclusions. Other scientists, still relying on facts to support what they say are being shunned and even scorned as being in ‘man made global warming’ denial akin with holocaust denial.
Don’t mis-understand me here, I’m not pro oil, gas & coal. I’m as annoyed at the ever rising cost of petrol for my car and cost of heating and powering my car as you are. Just like you I’m a victim of power control too. Politics is partially funded by oil, gas and coal but the politicians must be seen to be doing something or you won’t re-elect them. Man made global warming gives them the platform to do this.
I have a green energy idea my self. I’d like to develop it but that costs money. I’ll chip away at it as my tilers wage allows. Why? because oil, gas and coal burning releases toxins that are harmful to all animals on the planet.
