Well I’ve been living in Tobago for a month now but hav’nt done any sight seeing or tourist stuff apart from some late nights in bars after long days at work. I should finally get moved to the night shift at our casino next week so I’ll try to get out a bit more. I need to buy a camera though. I don’t have a camera on my cheap mobile.

It’s definately different down here. Actually I’m starting to use that phrase a lot. Life just moves a lot slower here. Straight out of the hectic pace of the UK this can be frustrating from a work point of view. Socially it’s not a problem though!

I’ve already been to a fancy dress party. With hardly any clothes to use I went in jeans & t-shirt but brought a plastic sword & a couple of water pistols. I was told the theme was ethnic so I went as a Somali boat pirate!

Current rough guide to the exchange rate here is £1 gets you almost $10TT (Trinidad & Tobago dollar). $1 US gets you about $6TT. It’s easy to convert your foreign cash to TT but bloody hard to convert TT to USD if you don’t yet have a bank account! My advice is don’t convert more cash to TT than you need for a couple of days holiday at a time.

I found this satelite photo of Tobago. Click on the picture to view the zoomable image.

Satelite image courtesy of My Tobago.info A great blog to find out more about Tobago.

Well I’m off tonight & all tomorrow. I’m sure I’ll be ‘liming’, the local term for socializing with alcohol involved. You can be liming a lot, but hey, it really is different down here. See you in the Crown Point Hotel bar & the Royalton casino, where I hang out a lot!

There’s a new craze in Camborne pubs. Girls are putting vodka jelly up their snatches and having blokes suck it out with straws. Police and health authorities are now worried about the effects of Minge drinking.

SKY SPORTS BREAKING NEWS:! ! ! It has been announced that next year’s shirt sponsor for TIGER WOODS will be Tampax. A spokesman for Tampax said “To sponsor a Twat going through a bad period is exactly what our company is all about.”

Just bought a cool game for the PS3, it’s about a black guy who drives round shagging whores, uses violence involving metal clubs, crashes his car & evades the police- it’s called Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09.

Best Headache Joke Ever – A husband emerged from the bathroom naked & was climbing into bed when his wife complained, as usual, “I’ve a headache!” “Perfect,” her husband said. “I was just in the bathroom powdering my penis with crushed aspirin. You can take it orally, or as a suppository, it’s up to you.

Two Asian brothers have been killed when they fell through a frozen pond in Birmingham. ITV are to make a documentary on the third brother who survived the ordeal. Dan Singh on ice will be screened in the spring…

Just heard Jonathan Ross is leaving the BBC. Was wondering what you and your four mates are going to do with the piano?

The ginger woman at my work recently announced that she was pregnant by the black boyfriend, she was discussing baby names the other day, apparently ‘Terry the Chocolate Orange’ is not an appropriate name and enough to get me the sack!

5000 men surveyed were asked why they like blowjobs.

1 % liked warmth.
2 % liked sensation.
3 % liked eroticism.
94 % just liked the peace and quiet.

I was having great sex today when just as we got towards the climax my wife completely ruined the moment and said those words that just fills a man’s heart with fear dread & panic…. ! !”hi Honey I’m home”..

Did u see Paul McCartney the other night on X Factor playing the piano…? Nice to see him fingering something with legs for a change !!

Susan Boyle has a photo shoot tomorrow for her new album. Simon Cowell wishes to improve her image by surrounding her with proper ugly bastards. The bus will pick you up at nine, try not to miss it there’s a tenner in it for you.

I bought a DVD the other day called ‘My Favourite 18 Holes’ by Tiger Woods. What a waste of money. It was all about golf. Apparently Tiger Woods and his wife were simply having a disagreement over a game of cards. And, as it turns out, a club does beat a spade.

I’ve gone back to being a casino slot tech & it’s bloody long hours! It’s ok though because I’ve drastically reduced my cost of living by taking this job. should be getting out of debt faster without the high cost of living in the UK. Of course the weathers much better too…..

Only been in the sea once so far & I’ve been here a month! My blogging will be very intermittent for the near future, what with the hour at work. Plus I need to buy a new camera so I can upload some pictures. there’s carnival coming up soon. At some point I’ll start blogging more about my life here, lets just say things are a bit different here. Everything, & I mean EVERYTHING, moves at a slower pace! Also getting use to the accent can be a problem at times.

Well that’s all for now! Wish me luck in my new life! And good luck in your life too.

I thought I was relatively up top date on my blog comments. Signed in today & realised I wasn’t. Then, the more I read, I realised for some reason I was seeing comments from the past. I relpied to one comment but I don’t think it shows to the person that posted it. How bad am I? Right now I think the few people that have read my blog might possibly think I’m an idiot.

Deal with it! I’ve got my own demons, mostly UK financial (Debts basically) that I’m trying to deal with. Well…. somewhere on this blog I have stated ‘charity begins at home’. You’ve just got to pay your own way in life before you can help others (financially talking – I mean donate to charity)

Good news! I’m off to a new job in January. I’ll be living in Tobago in the Carribean. By cutting the excessive cost of living in the Uk I can actually get out of debt faster despite the exchange rate to the UK £.

Please give me to the end of January to settle in to my new job. Hopefully by then I’ll have gained new belief in my own theory of what being an Aid Renegade is all about & will be better prepaired, especially emotionally, to ‘pay it foward’ & help some people that actually take the time to post a valid comment on my blog!

When I signed in for the first time in a month today I saw requests for advice but I also realised some comments were old news. I replied to one comment & pressed ‘apply’ but just not sure if my reply is public right now.

Well, I never claimed to be perfect. A lot of the opposite in fact!

All the best!
Aid Renegade
(PS – drunk right now so posting this blog under ‘drunk dreaming’.)

1. Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow.. Do not walk beside me for the path is narrow. In fact, just piss off and leave me alone.

2. Sex is like air. It’s not that important unless you aren’t getting any.

3. No one is listening until you fart..

4. Always remember you’re unique. Just like everyone else.

5. Never test the depth of the water with both feet.

6. If you think nobody cares whether you’re alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

7. Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you’re a mile away and you have their shoes.

8. If at first you don’t succeed, skydiving is not for you.

9. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

10. If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably well worth it.

11. If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.

15. A closed mouth gathers no foot.

16. There are two excellent theories for arguing with women. Neither one works.

18. Experience is something you don’t get until just after you need it.

19. We are born naked, wet and hungry, and get slapped on our ass … Then things just keep getting worse.

A nice, calm and respectable lady went into the pharmacy, walked up to the pharmacist, looked straight into his eyes, and said, “I would like to buy some cyanide.”

The pharmacist asked, “Why in the world do you need cyanide?”

The lady replied, “I need it to poison my husband.”

The pharmacist’s eyes got big and he exclaimed, “Lord have mercy! I can’t give you cyanide to kill your husband. That’s against the law! I’ll lose my license! They’ll throw both of us in jail! All kinds of bad things will happen. Absolutely not! You CANNOT have any cyanide!”

The lady reached into her purse and pulled out a picture of her husband in bed with the pharmacist’s wife.

The pharmacist looked at the picture and replied, “Well now, that’s different. You didn’t tell me you had a prescription!”

Call it ‘dry irony’ or something, I thought it was funny but then I just don’t think like most people do I?

Yep, I know…. This is the point when I use my Amazon links to link to a DVD, FINALLY available in the Uk. Just not gonna do it. Besides, I’ve not made a penny from any of my Amazon links so far. I guess its up to you! Why don’t you use my Amazon links to see if this U2 DVD is available!

U2 ZOO Live from Sydney (Been to Sydney on my travels)

One bad thing about working on cruise ships during the ’90’s is that I never got to see big, well known bands live. Luckly, in the USA I was able to buy the video of U2 live in Sydney, Austrailia when they performed what I think was one of the best U2 live performances ever. It was a total f**king awe-inspiring show. I’ve always been ‘pissed’ that I could’nt find it on DVD here in the UK since I got back in 2004.

I spotted it in HMV 2 weeks ago but didn’t have the money. Works been good this month, really starting to think I can get a grip on my debts once again. Today I brought the DVD. First, good news! Unlike a Pink Floyd DVD, Pulse, that I also oroginally brought in the US, but was split between 2 DVD’s in the pack for UK release, Zoo is all on one DVD – the concert in it’s greatness fron start to finish!

Note to Pink Floyd DVD UK management. Pink Floyds music is all about chilling out. Why the f**k do you make me choose between the first half of their concert or the second? I mean I have to get up & put in the second DVD! I owned Pulse on DVD in the US. It was as it should be! All on one disc. Shame on you for for not releasing it on one disc in Pink Floyds home country!

So, ok, now I’ve got that off my chest back too Zoo! – So many personal fond memories! Hell! I got laid back in the early 90’s to Actung Baby. It was the girl that supplied the music in her house & well, it was fun! In an ever more complicated world only love will save you! John Lennon said it right in his song ‘Imagine’ (Seriously, google it!) Pay attention to the Lyrics.

Not being able to catch U2’s Zoo TV or POP tours means I’ve always been jealous that I’ve missed out on a great experience. If memory serves me my Zoo TV video was jumping with faults because I played it soo much! I hope my UK DVD version lasts longer. I last saw U2 live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in about 2002, maybe 2003. They had got back to basics in their live show as they are today. I’d seriously think about paying out an extortionate amount of money if I could get tickets today to see U2 reprise Zoo TV as an awe inspiring live concert! ….& I’ve only got the DVD to go on…. At least I can now see Zoo TV live any time I want too!

Bring back the Zoo TV tour U2! It was awesome! Bono, just think what your charity ego could acomplish with the money. Plus, your new generaton of U2 fans could apprieciate the original artistic form of , how through Zoo Tv, you passed a message on. I got the message through the video even if no one world wide got it through the passion that is a live performance.
PS – hope my spellings better on this ‘drunk dreaming’ trip!

Yep, I may well regret what I blog while pissed but this is my blog. It’s a part of my life. I spend part of my life pissed to escape the reality of my real life for a while. Hell! Everyone needs a holiday! My drunk dreaming is my break & it’s eco friendly! No aviation fuel involved. not any diesel for my old R reg Ford Escort Estate either! ( It’s a UK/English thing if your not from the UK).

Overall I’m impressed at my drunk blogging. Please feel free to drop a comment & correct my grammar! Doesn’t mean I’ll edit the original post, just means I’m humble enough to to recognise my faults when pointed out.

Really getting into other songs on th 4 Non Blondes Album in addition to their only hit ‘Whats Up’. Look the album up through my Amazon shopping pages!

(Note to self: Read last nights ‘Drunk dreaming pt 2 blog post! Think I may have used the ‘F’ word in that post & that I must edit!)

This just happened! Yes I’m drunk dreaming again! Does that make this the unofficial ‘drunk dreaming part 3? While surfing the music channels I stopped on a song from Pink. I like Pink, she’s a self empowered woman & I like that in a woman – confidence! Me & Pink? OK! As if! Just never gonna happen but I can dream!

So OK, went offf on a bit of a ‘Robin Williams live’ tangent there. Pink is a big fan of 4 Non Blondes & guess what- so am I. I knew I brought their ‘4 Non blondes’ album. Get this! Just 2 songs after Pink the 4 non Blondes classic ‘Whats Up’ video played as well. I spurred me on to dig the 4 Non Blondes album out of my travel Case Logic err… cases.

Get this! I couldn’t even find the CD case insert for the album, let alone the CD album itself. I dragged the last ‘50 CD’ case logig case off the shelf & a lone CD fell onto the shelf. Seriously! It was the very album, 4 Non Blondes, that I was looking for! I checked all through my last Case Logic err… well case. No CD insert but more important I’ve got the album on CD in my hand! Just hope I can still play it! Assume no update means the album plays just fine!

Seriously! Just what are the odds of an album you’ve had for years just falling onto your shelf when you think you’ve already lost it! now its time to sign off & play the album. I’m already pissed that it’s not a live video. Call me yer typical dumb male at heart but I prefer playing ‘live in concert’ videos than albums. Hell, last night I dug out Gary Moore’s album ’still got the blues’.

UPDATE: A couple of hours later after enjoying playing the album! Info on Wilkipedia on 4 Non Blondes. Wow! To paraphrase Mike Myers in ‘Waynes World’, Linda can wail! (Possibly better than Cassandra!)

So ok, it’s another Saturday night & I’m drunk dreaming again. In my drunk state I’m actually looking for, welll, a reason to be sober. Obviously I havn’t found that reason yet in my life. I guess I need help on that one. All I know is my heart is in the right place. Guess I’m just majorly strugglling to turn my dreams into action right now.

That must resonate with someone on this planet! I’m a dreamer at heart. In the words of the late great John Lennon, Live your dreams! I’m still figuring out how to live my own dreams. Just like your life itself, my own life is a work in progress.

I guess I got bored of ‘politically correct’ stories etc. Don’t think for a second that PC gone mad & health & saftey gone mad doesn’t piss me off big time! I guess I’ve just become a bit ‘numb’ to it.

Best tip I can give from my little – read blog is this. Always dream of a better life! Just because I hav’nt figured out an answer doesn’t mean you can’t! Life is a team effort! If you too have a conscience then please post a reply to this post! This is the true power of the internet!

WHEN COMMUNICATION FAILS IN THE HUMAN RACE PEOPLE START DYING.

THE INNOCENT ‘little people’ die first. PEOPLE LIKE YOU & ME!

Chartity is the new power of us little people. By giving, either though your own actions as a good person. I don’t have the extra cash to donate to charity. I’m too busy trying to pay my own way in life. My debts have all gone to S**T in the last 3 months.

Hell, I’ve called my creditors but one, MINT I think, just won’t stop the annoying automatesd calls because, despite the fact that I actually called them, they won’t stop the calls because I could’nt make a token / good faith payment. While explaining this to the Mint representive on the phone over a week ago there was a sudden ‘ loss of signal’. Personally I think the Mint rep just hung up because she could’nt answer my question.

I’ve called you. I’ve communicated my current financial situation to you. By default, as far as I’m concerned, I’m in communication with you. Apparently this is just not good enough! I was told that the annoying 3 – 5 times a day automated calls to my mobile & home phone cannot be stopped because I just don’t have enough cash to make a token payment. Quite simply, F**K YOU! Please use this blog post in your case against me. I’m just trying to survive in the western world / UK. I’v spent 5 years trying to ‘do the right thing’ & pay off my debt.

I’m REALLY F**KING PISSED AT THE LACK OF TOLERANCE MY CREDITORS NOW SHOW ME AFTER 5 YEARS OF A PERSONAL FINANCIAL HELL TRYING TO GET OUT OF DEBT.

IT’S BEEN 5 YEARS NOW. IN HINDSIGHT, I WISH I’D JUST DECLAIRED BANCRUPTCY IN 2004. I’f I had, I might finally be able to get on with my life.

Doing the right thing, as per my concience, has really worn thin. I’m seriously thinking of final ‘f**k you creditors’ by declairing bancruptcy. Of course here in the UK this action will f**k up your credit history for about 6 years. 5 years in & seriously struggling to pay off my debt (do the right thing)…. I think I would have been better off declairing bancrupcy! At least then I could have spent the last 4 years saving up a deposit for a house! Despite my bad credit history I would have still had a big deposit for a new home!

Right now my good guy conscience is really being tested! Afterall virtually every mother fu****g politician has milked your own UK tax contributions for all their worth.

I’m so glad I’ve been out of the country & tax exempt while I was abroad. Unfortunately most UK based couples that went on to get married & have children don’t have the option of moving abroad, because they were never able to save enough due to the high cost of living, to move abroad & look for a better life for their family.

Tip….. Don’t vote Labour. I use to say vote Tory, the best alternative. After the recent expenses scandal, I’m more inclined the vote for a minority party (NEVER BNP!) because the 2 main UK parties are full of corruption. They’ve been milking the the ‘financial cow’ as part of their job description. What’s the unamious UK politicians defence claim? ” I did’nt break any rules’.

There’s no concience in UK potitics any more. Trust is earned. I’m not convinced any UK (so called) political leader has got the balls to keep it simple & make the law stand for something from the lowest level.

IT’S F**KING SIMPLE you poor excuse for current politicians!

THE PUNISHMENT FOR A CRIME MUST BE A MAJOR DETERRENT! If not, (world beware) we have the namby pambly ’soft touch’ feeling to what the law does, as here in the UK.

UK Human Rights laws (great idea but in it’s current form the biggest LABOUR f**kup as it is more benificial to the bad guy)

If there is no real deterrant then there is no real law. Come be a tourist & visit England! Lose the life of a loved one to crime & then really get pissed off at the stupdly short sentence they get! Next, go public in your home country (PLEEAASSE!) & take your tourist dollars to another country!

I probably hav’nt spelt this right (I am drunk again!) but does Lockerbie ring a bell!

Scotland is still a part of the UK. By default a Scottish err… English prime minister (Capital ‘p’ & ‘m’ left out because the current unelected pm doesn’t deserve the credit)

Is this a secret Scottish / pollital takeover? No I think not. But I’ve met everyday Scottish people on my cruise ship travels. Maybe some of them think their own fledgling government sucks too.

I have lots of respect for the Scottish (& other Celts) You & England have a common problem! Politicians without any real ‘balls’ to to the right thing.

I’m bored of this subject for now & I’m hungry too! Any comments are aprieciated! Comments = Communication! All views will be posted & so OK, I swore in this blog so fairs fair, you can swear in you comments I guess…..

Update 26th Sept ‘09. Sorry for the swearing! Just being passionate. Certain letters were deleted & replaced with ‘*’. You’ll get the idea of my point of view.

So ok, I’m drunk & waitng for my pizza to cook because in my drunk state I realised I’m hungry! Dam it! My drunk mind has lost the plot on the topic of this blog! It will come back to me……

Or maybe not….. At least the alcohol is doing it’s job! The shit state of my life has escaped my mind for now. Must not let my pizza burn in the oven this time!

In my drunk mind I’m still the good guy – my alter ego – the aid renegade. I wish someone had invented a ‘mind recorder’. Hell, even the Beatle’s did a little drug abuse at some point! I’m a big fan of John Lennon. No, I don’t own CD’s of his. Bear with me! Just switched of the cooker so I don’t let my pizza burn while I type this blog! Now I’m going hunting for a christmas prezzie from a past friend to get the words right. (Thanks Jupiters ‘mom’)

I leave this prezzie rolled up in a cubbard because right now I just can’t afford to get it mounted into a frame that I can hang on the wall for inspiration. These words deserve so much more than blu tac to pin it on my rooms wall!

Imagine their’s no countries,
It isn’t hard to do, nothing to kill or die for and no religion too,
Imagine all the people,
living life in peace, you may say that I’m a dreamer,
but I’m not the only one.
I hope someday you’ll join us,
AND THE WORLD WILL LIVE AS ONE.

Please note: No tacky links to Amazon / John Lennon here! It’s the words that are most important! PEACE!

I believe in the theory that ‘what goes around comes around’. Unlucky in life, I wonder all the time where is my life going? It’s like my life has been in limbo fo 5 or 6 years now. I’m posting this on my blog despite the fact that I have a job interview next week for a service engineers position, something I’ve done for most of my life but not in the last 7 years. Sure I dream of getting this job but lets face it, I’ve been ‘out of the loop’ as a service engineer for quite a while now.

At least my CV / resumae got me the interview! I read in the papers how many people apply for lots of jobs & never hear back. I’m assuming I won’t get this job. At least it should give me 21st century experience of a job interview! I need some security in my personel financial world. I’m just not getting that as a self employed tiler anymore. If the company holding the interview checks out my name online I hope they read this! Who know’s….Maybe the’ve ‘googled’ my name already – many companies do.

So OK, I’m rambling…. I’ll try to remember the original reason for starting this blog post before I finally post it! (Yes, I know. I use the ‘exclamation mark, !, a lot at times)

Go John Lennon! One of the simplest song’s you ever wrote had the most important message in the world and you wrote it over 30 years ago.

OK, I give up! Dam the alcohol. It’s a double – edged sword of the mind. I can’t remember the original reason for starting this post. What the hell! It’s Saturday night. I’ll enjoy myself, even if only in my own mind because I’m drunk. Every day life has really sucked for a long time now. Consider my alcohol powered holidays into my dreamers world a little light relief from the pressures of every life, 5 or 6 hous at at a time.

The UK’s Virgin Media, part of Richard Bransons group of companies, bill dead people & more than once! Featured on tonights edition of BBC’s Watchdog programme. It appears their customer service department is lacking some what in manners. Quite a few people have called Virgin Media after a close relative died to either cancel their subscription or transfer it to the spouses name. Instead Virgin Media have been just canceling the account without notice, leaving the grieving widow with no phone or internet access when they needed it the most. Surprisingly (Sir) Richard Branson was unavailable for a comment when approached by Watchdog & the only statement given was that he’s only in the country 4 days between now & Christmas. No mention of anything to deal with customer service problems. Not the actions of a Night of the Realm Sir Richard. More ‘Richard the Lionheartless’ than ‘Richard the Lionheart’. I expected better of you Mr Branson!

Here’s a spoof song / video that watchdog have uploaded to You Tube to raise awareness of Virgin Medias poor customer service. Tell your friends to watch the video!

My bank account is virtually empty. Of course I don’t know when I’ll actually be paid. Probably by check which will take a further 4 days to clear so it may not have cleared in enough time to pay the rent. Time to call all the creditors next to get them of my back for a bit. They can be over persistent sometimes. Then theres the quarterly utilities bills that must be due soon too. I’m still considering a ‘the hell with it’ bancruptcy option….

Have you seen the new UK Postman Pat Specsavers ad? Postman Pat is an established kiddies favourate TV programme from long ago when they made proper childrens TV programmes unlike some of the rubbish you see today.

Anyway, I thought it was just me at first but I’m sure theres a major continuity error in the ad. You’d expect better from the makers of Postman Pat!

Heres some Postman Pat links if you don’t know who he is.

Postman Pat UK

Postman Pat Canada

Did you catch the error? actually it may not be an error at all but at a glance it looks like he picks up the mail then drives away leaving the veg. The mail is actually half in the shot on the right as he drives away.

Is it just my wierd brain or did anyone else think there was a continuity error at first?

Update Sept 22nd 2009: If you watch the vid online you see bags of mail on the far right side of screen. When I watch the ad on my widescreen TV you don’t see thes bags, just the bags of veg. This makes the video look like Pats picked up the veg & left the mail then next shot it’s the veg thats left behind.

Today they finally get divorced – good! What pisses me off the most is how she uses her children & anything else she can think of to promote herself & keep herself in the spotlight. I guess there must be some truth to the saying that’s theres no such thing as bad publicity, theres just publicity.

Because I’ve reached my limit of seeing her in my paper nearly all the time I’ve set up @enoughofjordan on twitter. I’m just too worried about paying for the roof over my head to give a toss about my credit history! I am seriously thinking of declaring bankruptcy though.

If my credit history is going to be crap for the next 6 years anyway then bankruptcy might be the best option! At the rate I’m going it will be a simple case of bankruptcy or risk a stress related heart attack or stroke. At least I tried for 5 years to do the right thing & pay off my debt. Thanks to the recession I’m now buggered financially but still not on any kind of state benefits. Maybe I should have just claimed bankruptcy when I got back to England in 2004. I could have spent the last 5 years saving a deposit for a house instead of constantly trying to break even each month.

As far as getting tiling work goes I been sat on my backside all this week & at present it’s looking like the same scenario next week too. I could join one of the tradesmen websites but I don’t have any money to pay for the quotes. I dropped my price om my last quote but still didn’t get the job because my quote was low compared to the other tilers quotes they got. Talk about feeling like you just cant win!

Don’t tell me your age; you would probably tell a lie anyway

-but the Alcohol Man will know!

YOUR AGE BY ALCOHOL MATHS

This is pretty neat.

DON’T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute.
Work this out as you read.
Be sure you don’t read the bottom until you’ve worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it’s fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have alcohol (more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50 — I’ll wait while you get the calculator

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759 …
If you haven’t, add 1758.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number

The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have alcohol each week)..

The next two numbers are

YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2009) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.

OOPPS! – Just can’t be bothered to title this blog with SEO potential! In an evermore complicated world you need to keep things simple! This is my life as of now. Scary for a dreamer, maybe the worlds going to sh*t & I’m not supposed to try to try to help.

Not worried about SEO right now! Yep! Im drunk again, running / avoiding my financial problems. I’m to busy dreaming of a perfect world to worry about the fact that I can’t pay my bills for two months running right now. Bring it on Mint, Capital One, Barclay Card Business & HSBC WHO CHARGE ME MORE THAN ANY CREDIT CARD FOR defaulted payments! At £25 pounds a hit it’s no wonder you (HSBC) posted second best profits last week.

You too understand the simple theory of ‘power in numbers’. In HSBC’s case ( my own bank – since I was a paper boy, about 25 years ago, but understand I’m tired of being you’re bitch.

I think every bank now requests a banking history of at least 1 month before that bank will give you an account, judging by NatWest. So OK, now it’s a case of no ’start anew’ for people with problems financially.

Thanks to the mild ‘Spanish Inquision’ from Nat West Bank I’m assuming all banks now request a financial history of at least 1 month. How the f**K am I to try to start afresh if every bank I approach want’s a credit history? What ever happened to the good old time when a bank would let you open a personal account if you supplied some good old fashioned cash?

The banking system has trapped me! I’m not quite there yet but I’m seriously thinking of just saying ‘F**k you! – I wll declair bancrupcy as I just cant find enough work as a tiler to cover my bills any more. I thought my life sucks when I knew my potential love live wasn’t happening! Financially, it’s just been a one way downhill financial slide since then….

Shit! I thought I had already hit rock bottom! Apperently not…. PS – Automated / computer generated phone calls now plague my life. Their all from companies I owe money to (cards) . I thought if I give them a week before answering I’d have some good news for them in the form of work & a paypacket.

I guess not! It’s why this (me!) dreamer is drunk! I’ve just filled my fridge with cheap food for at least 10 days. Survival 101! FEED YOURSELF! I needed a break from the realty of my life so I brought a value wiskey bottle, value diet coke & 1 pack of cigarettes. How the f**k can I quit smoking while under the stress of my financial burden?

Why the f**k am I typing this blog when I should be using my alcohol consumption to take a ‘hours long only’ break from the dire reality of my life?

I guess I care, Im just know I’m not the only person going through this personal hell. Regardless of your last job description you are not alone with your financial difficulties!

If you’re a UK resident please visit Money Saving Expert.com at the first sign of financial trouble! Thats not any kind of affiliate link!

Don’t live in denial / some work will turn up soon / it’ll be OK in the end theory. Click on the link above & grab the free help to enable you to avoid if possible the financial disaster I’m now in. I thought I had retrained with a trade that would always be in demand. How wrong I was! – Despite my best intentions & 5 years of trying to earn enough to pay off my debt I now find myself in a position beond my own controll. A TOTAL LACK OF WORK for tilers to go around! I’m just a tiler! I tried to ‘better myself’ & retraind on the job in construction.

I’m just about 3 weeks away from saying ‘F**k it!’ ‘I’ve had enough!’ Time to declair bancrupsy! I don’t think anyone reading this will truelly get it unless you’ve been in a saimular situation or know someone else who has.

All I wanted to do was the HONOURABLE think & pay of the debt I incurred. After 5 years of struggling to make payments & then see the source of my income dry up faster than a water well in Africa I think it’s time to be the ‘renegade’ I dreamed of myself being one day.

Now more than ever do I understand my own words that ‘Charity begins at home’.

It’s not Mr Bruce Willis ’s best known movie. Forget ‘Die Hard’ – I think its one of the best movies he ever made. Sure as f~~k makes up for ‘Hudson Hawk’ as far as my conscience is concerned! ‘Tears Of The Sun‘ – SEARCH IT ONLINE (or click on the link for Wilkpedia). Watch it yourself & draw your own conclusions. I think it’s one of the most gritty, tell it how it really is, movies ever made. This movie never tried to glamourise death. Death is brutal & this movie portrays this fact. I brought this movie 2 years ago. I use to cry at the ’serious’ ‘real life’ scenes. I’m so scared that as a human being, scenes from this movie just don’t bring me to tears like it used to when I first brought it.

I’m a dreamer… Life is not perfect. Has life made me so numb to all that my ‘Aid Renegade’ alter ego aspires to help? I deliberately havn’t played this DVD in about 4 months. I was scared That I’ve become ‘numb’ to the mesage of the movie. Definition of numb – to watch something that use to bring me to tears but just don’t feel the need to cry anymore.

I FEEL GUILTY THAT THE EMOTION OF THIS MOVIE DOES’NT LEAVE ME CRYING ANY MORE.

Has the reality of a movie, who’s message, inspired me to aid work , become so numb to me? Hell ! I dream of being in a position where I can help! Not because they need me (That would be self indulgent fantasy / ego). I feel drawn to wherev people are more in need than me.

I’ve tried my hardest to be responsible for the debts I’ve incurred. Right now I see my own honour melt away. My own ability to do the right thing relies on a market that just does’nt exist any more! This time next year I will be 42 years of age & I thought I’d finally be out of debt & could start to rebuild m life financially. I thought not taking the easy road of declairing bancrupcy was the honourable thing to do. Then again ,Thanks (W) Bankers, ( Seriously! Exchange the ‘B’ for a ‘W’ & you can describe banbkers honestly!) Just when I thought my financial battle of concience was almost over – Work I thoughtI had still dissapears with less than a weeks notice. F~~K it! I’m self employed!

Last month I just covered my rent. Now the ‘loans’ I was keeping up on for 5 bloody years out of my life are seemingly all for nothing. I feel broken as a human being. I thought life had already humbled me enough through my ‘1st world poverty. My gurt feeling? My chances of doing the honourable thing of covering my debt are blown. My gut feeling tells me I hav’nt met the UK version of totally rock bottom yet. I feel my landlord will suffer next. My own rules say pay for the roof over your own head first. I’m so scared I hav’nt met the true meaning of rock bottom yet.

I think I will become a fan of the internet cafe once again. As a ships crew member the cyber cafe was an integral part of my communicaton with the rest of the world. Rest assured! The ‘Aid Renegade’ domain hosting is covered for the next 10 months.

Do I need to become a traveller in my own country to survive? All I have s my escort estate to live in. I have work for few days more. The work I had for the time after has disolved. Is it my time to take the money & adapt to a UK travellers life? I feel I’ve tried to play the honourable game but thanks to (B) Wankers (Change that ‘B’ for a ‘W’ !) that don’t give a shit I feel I’m out of options & mut plan to save my self a different way to savwe my concious.

I love my Discovey / National Geographic channels & All OTHERS IN THAT GROUP! I’m so scared of missing them. To be truthful, maybe I’ve relied on TV to much for inspiration. Maybe it’s time for me to accept who I am.

Through my cruise ship career as a slot teck / mgr I got to experience life. In hindsight I did’nt really appreciate the chance I had because I was young , single & looking for love – YEP ! I’m an old fashioned romantic t heart but thanks to Sir David Attenborough I took my chances on ships & I don’t regret it. On my first ship I learned how to SCUBA. I got qualified t0 Rescue Diver (PADI- & proud of it just to piss off the excessive rules of learning to dive in the UK)

I’ve babbled on enough. Where do I go from here? Well thats for me to figure out. Hey! just when I thought I was out of options I still have some. Scarey decisions are ahead in my life!

Stay tuned to www.aid-renegade.com for updates! I’m so scared shitless that I don’t know where I’ll be in a month but hey! My blogs hostimng is paid for for another 10 months so I have communication with the rest of the world.

Lifes an Adventure. Maybe, for all my world travels, my greatest adventure is destined to be in my own country! Even bigger question is ‘do I have the balls to follow through?’

I’m only human. I don’t have that answer just yet! (DO YOU?)

PS – Just can’t be bothered to test this post for spelling mistakes so you get it RAW & as is!

Ha!! Let face it, no one really searches ‘drunk & honest’ do they? Good job then that I decided to file this blog under ‘Aid Renegade Rant’. Drunk & honest – This is me right now! Saturday 25th July, 7.00pm GMT & Drunk & Honest!

I’m a dreamer that just has’nt figured out how to make my mark on the human race in general. I dream of peace, but as global warming begins to get a grip on the world the’re is just one simple conclusion. The politic’s of the human race will always compromise your ability to be your own boss. I think we may be 5 – 10 years away from the world as we know it going to shit! We are so use to relying on other people! I’d love to be an aid worker! I’m a problem solver, on the ground in, say, Africa, where I believe the human race evolved from, & a place the western world must make a priorty to support. All that the rest of the world is, & who its populated by, came from Africa.

Follow that simple fact through! The whole world as we know it is actually born of Africa – The crade of life – The human race populated the world from Africa. In the process evolution played its part. It’s why I’m white in skin colour. Oh.. this could cause some contraversy. No problem to me – I’m an aethist, In an ever more complicated world I like to keep things simple! I’m white because the sun is not so strong over England. – That’s the evolution of the human race in your face! Deal with it – It’s a fact.

I think it’s why my life has humbled me. Africa – I’m drawn to it by the Darwin Theory. Why has the western world left Africa behind? As far as politicians go, talking about Africa is just a ‘political vote’ that must be listened to. Politicians do the bare minimum in the form of charity to win your vote. We vote people in to office to deal with the complicated shit we don’t personnally deal with.

Fact: Politicians get their pay packet from YOUR taxes. Expences are also paid for by you (& me as well!) through our taxes. I don’t know about you but I think that here in the UK the options of who to vote for are limited. Think about it: Sure the Green party or other may have the, possibily, best ideals at heart but, here , for most voters its a simple case of voting for the lesser of two evils, if you can be bothered to vote at all.

I’m in that dilema myslelf. I voted Tory ( Conservative) last time but the general expenses scandal has left me thinking: ‘Glad you’re busted’ but it doesn’t change the fact that I think most major party members have taken the piss out of the English public through their expenses claims. THERE IS NOW NO HONOUR in being a UK politician. Fuck You! As a tax payer I demand better from government (That means you politicians ). You ‘fuck’ me financially. Well what goes around comes around. You should expect me to FUCK you right back. Why? In this recession that all Western Governments should have seen coming I will do what I have to do to survive.

You are Government. You ARE MY BITCH! (Hello USA! I’m'English’ ‘English’, ) I do my bit to pay your (English politicians) wage. Earn it or I will bring you down! It’s at this point I expect some desperate labour idiot to pick me out & use his ‘time limited’ power in office to ‘go for me’. This is the simple idea of democracy. Abuse it as a politician & in the 21st century of internet communication it will come to public notice. It’s not a matter of ‘if’ its a matter of ‘when’ . From a politicians point of view it’s a simple case of what can I get away with before I’m found out.

Also: Said politician probably has a vote on the legal system so it a case of ‘how long can I get away with it’?

Like I said, I’m drinking. I’m busting for a piss rigjht now. I just came up with a new game. Next time you need to pee (ladies or gents) think of a particular politician whos actions, at your tax dollars expense, have pissed you off. Just, in your own mind, PISS ALL OVER THEM while you deal with the call of nature! Maybe they’ll get the hint one day. I think this recession hasn’t hit home fully yet. An extravigant government is basically a Ponzi scheme in waiting. Take UK Labour – borrow, borrow, borrow! We’ll just leave it to the Conservatives to sort our mess out – if they can!.

I hate this attitude: Fucking “Financially I’m set for life, what with my Gold Plated pension” bloody politicians! Well FUCK YOU! I will do WHAT I NEED TO DO TO SURVIVE in the private sector. MAKE SURE MY OWN PERSONAL COMMITMENTS ARE COVERED! This is the power all workers have in a democracy. Especially if your self employed.

If get a ‘cash in hand’ ( ie : bartor) job I will keep as much as possible to myself If it keeps me from ’signing on the dole’. My mission in life is to survive. I must stress that I mean not at the loss of others – I have a big concience! I know right from wrong.

Has everyone or anyone realised that the olny people that make the rules do it after getting voted into their political position? That’s why politics is a dinosaur, It’s just not in a politicians ‘pay packet’ to rock the boat, so they don’t. They leave it for the next generation of politicians to deal with it. Hey! you pay their wage too! Are you getting the picture yet?

Disclaimer: If you are in a ‘Quango’ non job on more than your important front line staff such as:

(front line / on the ground workers)

Medical staff (nurses, doctors, ambulance paramedics – in no particular order…)

Police on the beat (England needs more of you!)

Firemen / Sorry! Fire Women too!)

Frontline armed forces staff. So OK I’m basically a pacifist at heart but don’t think for a secnond I don’t respect your commitment to you’re job due to the risks. I don’t agree with the war you’re fighting but I DO respect your just doing the job you signed up to do.

PS – Still drinking & dreaming! No point in stopping now…. Anyone actually bothered / got the integrity to post a comment?

Aid Renegade by name – Aid Renegade by Nature! Now to figure out how to turn some of my personal dreams into reality. Any offers? I just want to start somewhere. I’m just naurally shy, I loved the Steve Martin movie Parenthood but just hate the fact I’m the 4th child! One day – I’ll figure it out! I’ll have a career in aid work. Trouble is, sometimes it’s not what you know, it’s who you know. I guess I hav’nt met that ‘who you know’ person yet. Hell, maybe my sub consiouce led me to write this blog just to try to grab the attention of the ‘who you know’ person, even if I don’t know them yet.

Go figure…. Life’s not easy being a 41 year old DREAMER! No apologies if you don’t like the way I describe life in general. I have a comments form! Maybe you should show some ‘balls’ & air your opinion!

If you call someone on a different mobile phone network, or call their mobile phone from your landline, their network will charge your operator a fee for carrying the call. This fee is called a Mobile Termination Rate or MTR and is currently charged at around 4.7p or more for every minute of the call.

The billions of minutes for which this fee is charged adds up to billions of pounds for UK consumers every year. This petition is to get the industry regulator, Ofcom, to lower the rate to reflect actual costs. I don’t know about you but I think most UK mobile phone call plans cost too much for what they are already.

How to get work employment (jobs) on cruise ships! The cruise ship industry is contantly expanding! Get work employment (job) on cruiseships & get paid to travel!
I worked on cruise ships for almost a decade in the Casino Department as ‘Casino Slots Manager’. I worked my way up from a trainee slot technician. Taking the risk to leave England behind and work & travel on cruise ships was the best move I ever made!. Why should you listen to me?
So what can you expect working on a cruise ship?
Well for a start there’s the travel! I’d have to say its easier to tell you where I havn’t been than where I have been. I’d still like to visit Japan, South Africa, South America & China.
I had great fun in the carribean, In addition to beautiful hot sandy beaches I learn’t to SCUBA Dive, go on trips in small boats ‘island hopping’ for the day and enjoy the culture and food of the carribean islands!

I also got to travel around Europe. I’ve been to Russia, Copenhagen, Monte Carlo, in fact just too many ports of call to mention! It’s was all a life changing experience & I got to make lots of new friends and enjoy life to the fullest!

I describe living & working on ships as being like living in a big tin can with up to 50 different nationalities!

Write a blog post, share stories with friends, follow charities on social networks, find volunteer opportunities, embed a widget on your site, organize a tweetup (meet up for you non twitterers), express yourself using video, sign a petition and organize an online event.

All topics are explained in the blog post, I’m not going to just ‘rip it’ & post in my own blog, even though it has been simultaneously posted on over 100 blogs. The info is a collaboration between the Mashable blogs ‘Summer Of Good’ and Max Gladwell’s ‘10 ways series’.

The 10 ways are great to use, I especially liked twitition which I’ve bookmarked for future use. Here’s the posts link:

I’ve been looking into geothermal energy for your home as well & I found this guide that you should get if you are considering geothermal energy to heat your home. You can pay $20,000 – $30,000 to get a geothermal energy system installed in your home so its not cheap.

Basically deeper than 6 feet below the ground level & the temperature remains relativly constant at 50 – 60 degress F. This can be used to heat your house using water filled pipes buried in your back garden in a closed loop to transfer heat to your home using a heat pump.

This information is put together well with the assistance of people from Global Greenhouse Warming.com. And is a ‘must have’ if your are considering installing a geothermal system. It covers all you need to know such as costs, finding the right system for your needs, installation etc. This information could save you money in itself by helping you to purchase the right geothermal system for your house.

So how do you cut your electricity bills? Here I discuss ideas as to what you can do to reduce the amount of electricity you / your home uses. It’s all basically a simple common sense approach to the problem. These are things you can do right now in your home. Some power companies will give you discounts for dual fuel bills (gas & electric) as well as paperless billing. find the best provider for your situation.

Not using it? Switch it off!

It may sound obvious but often times you don’t do it. Best tip is to go to your local pound or dollar store & buy some plugin timers. Fall asleep with the TV or Stereo on a lot? plug it into a timer & set it to cut the power an hour to an hour & a half after you normally fall asleep. Also set the timer to allow the power back on when you normally wake up.

Got phone chargers in the house? Remember to switch off your mobile charger when done. Got a portable home phone too? Fit that with a timer thats off during the day but switches on for a few hours late at night to keep the phone charged. The electricity used at this time may even be cheaper too.

Computers / laptops should be switched off manually when not in use. suddenly cutting the power with a timer could lead to computer crashes. A laptop will just run till the batteries flat. Same applies to battery backups for computers as well.

Switch off lights you’re not using as well as fit energy efficient bulbs. If you’ve got dimmer switches on any lights you can buy special energy efficient bulbs that work with dimmer switches. You can search for them online if your local store doesn’t stock them.

Reducing cost of hot water

Make sure your hot water tank is insulated properly. Also reduce the temperature of the water. There’s no point in it being so dam hot you burn yourself is there! Fit solar panels if you can afford them. Think you can’t? Read this other post. Have a shower instead of a bath as you’ll use less hot water.

The fridge / freezer

If your fridge and / or freezer has a lot of space in it fill it up with bottled water. A fridge runs most efficiently when it is about 75% full and the temperature should be set to about 3 degrees C. You can also fill up gaps in the freezer with bottled water too but make sure the bottles are only two thirds full and made of plastic as water expands when frozen.

Central Heating

Turn off heaters in rooms you don’t use. Fit double glazed windows if you can afford them. If not, fit heavy insulative curtains & keep them closed at night. Keep doors closed to, including internal doors. Drop the thermostat to about 68 degress F & put on a sweat top or jumper.

These are the more obvious ways to cut your electricity bills but there are other ways as well that power companies don’t want you to know because they want your money. Some methods even allow you not bother doing some of the things listed above! This is some recomended reading: Save On Home Energy. It’s packed full of all kinds of power saving info.

I hope you found this info useful as it’s starting to look like oil prices are starting to rise in time for winter & higher bills again. Do all you can to beat the greedy power companies. They are only iinterested in making a profit for share holders, not helping you when times are tough.

DIY Home Energy Survey

More help for you in cutting your bills. Don’t pay hundreds for an energy consumption survey when you can do it yourself. This ebook tells you how. It pays for itself in the money you could be saving on your next utility bill.

I’m confused, why is Chuck Norris suddenly such a big search on twitter? Am I missing something? Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Chuck Norris fan. 1990 – 1992 I was dabbling in martial arts myself, the last one being Akido. Chuck is an all American action hero, wether it be through many movie roles or as the great Walker, Texas Ranger. Let’s not forget 6 times unbeaten Karate Champion too, 1968 (Year I was born) to 1974 & left at the top of his game.

One of his first movies must have been as the baddie fighting against Bruce Lee who appeared to grab & rip off a handful of Chuck’s chest hair in the fight scene! Too many movies to remember off the top of my head but there’s the Delta force movies, Missing in Action, Lone Wolf McQuade, An Eye For An Eye, Firewalker (watched it on Sky today), Invasion USA, Hitman & other titles that escape my mind right now. Search my Amazon links below for your country to find Chuck Norris DVD’s.

UK DVDs USA DVDs Canadian DVDs

I like Chuck, he’s straight talking like me & uses common sense in the way he thinks, not namby pamby political correctness. He’s no spring chicken any more, must be close to 70 now but still going strong! I wouldn’t want to be on his “I don’t like you” list! He’s also done a lot for charity & helping kids.

Official Chuck Norris site. Fun Chuck Norris Facts site. I was suprised the second site ranks higher than his own site!
