After the rapid response medic who’s health & safety actions allowed Roy Adams to die now it’s health & safety actions of fire chiefs that allow 6 to die in a tower block fire. Fire fighters were on the 11’th floor of the tower block & would have probably been able to rescue trapped residents but were ordered to pull out amid fears of an explosion. The fire fighters did not want to quit searching but had to follow the order. An experienced fire fighter has slammed the decision to pull out, stating there is growing frustration amongst fire fighters over health & safety rules.
A large gas pipe had fractured & was leaking gas but the gas wasn’t building up to cause a possible explosion, it was burning off as it leaked. The fire fighters, who by job description get paid to do this kind of thing, should have been allowed to carry out their job as they were close to the residents in peril.
A neighbour who escaped the blaze has criticised the fire service for taking 90 minutes to reach his neighbours who by this time were dead. Two women & 3 children were found dead in a bathroom and another victim was found in the flat next door. Other survivors criticised the fire service claiming they only survived by ignoring instructions to stay in their homes.
