So I was surprised to get a call from UNICEF tonight, it was in regards to my micro donation of £5 while watching Soccer Aid 2012. What can I say, it’s embarrassing, I would love to commit to a regular monthly donation to UNICEF. I just can’t as I’m self employed and I believe in the simple theory that charity begins at home, you got to pay your own way before helping others financially. I’ve still got the last £150 of a £900 N-Power bill to cover. I did call my N-Power contacts extension this morning but got no reply. Go figure! I thought someone at N-Power would be happy to take my money!
So anyway, it got me thinking, is there a UNICEF telephone team calling back all the phone numbers that donated £5 by text during Soccer Aid? I don’t have a problem with them calling me but some people might have a problem with it…
Regardless, Soccer Aid 2012 raised over £4 million for UNICEF which iss of course a very good thing! Oh, and official England football squad, Soccer Aid’s England team won 3-1, which is way better than you did playing you’r last two friendlies! Buck your ideas up! I think all England squad football players should not be playing for personal financial gain. They should donate all their paid to their favourate charities, including any bonuses. Get them to understand the theory of playing for honour, not another big pay check.
Oh, Thanks Robbie Williams for dreaming up Soccer Aid! Keep up the good work every two years for many years to come!
